Spoiler: Tikko & Erich Chen Lighting Workshop at Huntington Beach

First note…  thanks Mimi for coordinating it. I was surprised no one else showed up but it was totally worth it to spend the little time we did with you guys and can’t wait to go to the next one so keep us posted!

Had such an amazing time at the beach yesterday! Thought we would missed the even totally because we arrived late and couldn’t find he group but, eventually we did and I’m so happy we did. Got wet up to my knees in water & ALMOST – fighting for my life almost – fell in the water with the camera. Oh my gosh… my heart was beatting SOOO fast.  But it was ALL worth it! :) The people and the instructors were so awesome, makes me want to do these workshops more! Can’t wait for the next one, I can see why they could be rather addicting. So yeah… without further ado, these are the spoilers from the photoshoot.

This is Jenilee Lopez, our model for the workshop yesterday! She was indeed beautiful and a total joy to work with. Can’t wait for the next workshop! Funny thing is, it was the first time i worked in manual mode and it’s not too bad :)

Reflections of the pier as well as herself. Another one of my favorites, this was a totally lucky shot because i just pointed it at her, way below my eye level, without looking at whats going to come out! :)

Camera hungry….

On an additional note… it’s weird how I seem to crave to be in front of the camera now. How I miss it. Hahah it’s too bad I don’t have what it takes to be a model because i would want to be one… hahah :) I somehow like being in front of the camera… which is surprising because I used to hate it. It sure helps though to know how to pose… it’s weird, because posing is such a natural thing to me, it seems, that I can’t imagine or understand how some people can’t… which makes me wonder how to get people to relax a little while they are on a photoshoot.

Sometimes as I people watch, I see little girls strike a pose like it’s just innate and born in them. It’s cute the type of attitude they can have at such a young age. Which makes me think… how do we teach this to people who don’t know how to strike a pose naturally.  Afterall, being tense does not make a photoshoot good. How can one make a couple relax, be themselves, smile and laugh without being tense… hahah :) who knows. Secondly, how do you freeze and capture the best of everyone, especially hiding the little gaining of weight that may show if positioned incorrectly.

Thinking about these things makes me excited! Can’t wait for the upcoming photoshoots with my friends.

Anyways as I said… I should go back to sleep.
